As I start writing this poem,

I am transported into a world of
Mesmerizing Music as mellifluous as birds chirping,

Noteworthy nature as breath-taking as a fairy wren’s feather,

Tall tradition as symbolic as an eagle,

And memories to cherish forever.

We started on a tour,
To vibrant, modest, tiny Kodaganallur.

Gorgeous days started with a walk through the countryside,
The enchanting farm reminded us the food they provide.

The food that we enjoy every day,
A farmer’s hard-work for 90 days.

Every time the winds silently passed by,
The plants swayed likegentle waves, as they captured our eye.

An opportunity to sing in temples came as a splendid surprise,
I would never have thought of this delightfulprize.

Ancient, celestial temples to visit.
Stunning Sculptures and Musical Pillars calling us to revisit.

Holy TamiraparaniRiver gladly swept across the joyful village,
Giving the diligent people a vantage.

A dip in the appealing river,
A charismatic experience that couldn’t be any better.

A music practice session in the majestic river,
A lifetime opportunity forever.

Having cat-walking peacocks as my walking partner,
Made my heart leap and flutter like a helicopter.

Feeding the peacocks was a merry event,
The best part of marvelous holidays spent.

With this, we concluded our incredible tour,
Having spent time with large–hearted people in Kodaganallur.

Hello, I am Udhaya. I completed schooling in Government Higher Secondary school, Nadukkallur. I had no idea about my future until the board exams. Once the board exams were cancelled, my teachers gave us awareness about 7.5% reservation in NEET for government school students like us. Then Chitra akka at YOKE contacted us, and arranged a suitable environment for studying for NEET. We were the first batch of NEET students. So we did not know how to handle it. So akka spoke with Usha Raman madam, the principal of Jayendra golden jubilee school, Sankar Nagar. Usha madam admitted us to their JNA (Jayendra NEET Academy) online classes, for free. Then we started following the JNA schedule.

A lot of teachers from JNA helped us. In Chemistry, Arumugam Sir and Geetha madam taught the portions deleted in board exams. In Biology, Suresh sir and Ram sir helped us and cleared our doubts without any hesitation. Teaching Physics, Venkat Sir from the US, Selva sir and Venkat Sir helped us with the topics which we felt as tough. Chandra madam, who is the NEET coordinator of JNA, connected us with all the staff of JNA and motivated us a lot.

We found Physics very tough. Our scores in Physics were very low. We did not know how to approach the problems. Then Menaka ma’am helped us. She lives in Bengaluru. Her daughter Jyo akka was in first year MBBS at MMC. We had a lot of fear about the NEET exam. Ma’am helped us overcome our fear, and explained about the reality of the exam. We also had no idea how to study. Ma’am gave us a lot of strategies and study tips. Madam is so student-friendly, so we loved to attend her classes. Jyo akka helped us study Genetics which we had not studied. She made it very easy and gave many useful study tips. We had only a short period of time to cover the portions, and so we skipped the Ecology unit. Anthony Sir from ATREE helped us with this topic, over three sessions. He is a wildlife researcher. His experience in the field made his classes very easy to understand.

Jyo akka’s father Swaminathan Sir motivated us a lot by telling short stories, and helped us overcome the stress. All of them spoke to our parents, and convinced them to let us study long hours, and gave them hope.

Our school teachers Kanthimathi ma’am, Suganthi ma’am and Mangaiyarkarasi ma’am played an important role. They put a steady foundation about the subjects and the basics which helped us to follow the classes easily. They took classes even in the lockdown period, whenever we asked.

During our studies, we were stressed a lot and it was hard to concentrate and focus. Then Petchidurai Sir taught us yoga and meditation to handle this. From then we did meditation every morning before starting our studies. It helped us a lot in focussing.

At YOKE, there were many akkas who were preparing for the TNPSC exam. They also helped us by correcting our mock test papers, and when we got tired they gave us fruits, biscuits and juice. They motivated us and cared for us like their own brothers and sisters. Our parents supported us and gave us the freedom to choose our own future.

The most important thing is without Chitra akka and Vasu sir we could not have made it. They arranged for everything we needed for our preparation. They treated us like their children. They spend their whole time for us by correcting our test papers, evaluating them and analysing the results to tell us where we should improve. Vasu sir helped us from the beginning with document preparation and the application formalities.

Finally, with the help of so many people, I was able to crack NEET and get placed in Kanyakumari medical college. Thanks to all who helped us in the preparation. Thanks to YOKE!

I am Vishnupriya. My friends and I were trained at YOKE for the NEET examination. I want to write about our daily routine at the classes. We followed this routine for about 3 months before we attempted the exam. I cleared the exam and today I am a first year student at Government Medical College, Nilgiris.

The day at YOKE would begin for us at 8:30 AM. We would start with meditation, which helped us focus on the exam and calm ourselves. After that, we would put down our time-table for that day on the board. Then we would start our studies. Around 11 AM we would mostly have Physics class with Menaka madam. Sometimes we would have Chemistry class with YOKE Sir or other classes. After class, we would discuss the lesson taught and sometimes do problems, or go back to study. In the afternoon we would attend classes conducted by Jayendra School. By now we would be tired, and so we will play for some time to relax.

Then we would have our daily test. After the test, we would evaluate and then go back to the question paper and discuss among ourselves specifically about mistakes made. We would go home around 8:30 every night.

At the time of preparation for NEET, we learnt a lot of lessons, not only our studies but also other things and skills. We learnt to plan, we learnt to remain motivated even if we got low scores in tests, we learnt to work in a group and learn from each other. At that time, we had a mix of emotions, feelings and also happiness!

I am Divya. I completed my schooling in Nadukallur Government Higher Secondary school. When I was a little girl, I had an aim to become a doctor. But the government announced the entrance exam for medical studies. Many students took the NEET exam and said it was very tough, and some committed suicide. I saw this in the news and I decided I can’t do it. Then I had no idea about my aim until I came to 12th std. When I was in the 12th std, the Tamil nadu government announced 7.5 reservation in NEET exam only for government school students. It was really encouraging news to me. And my father and teachers also encouraged me a lot. I asked Chitra akka if she can organise a NEET coaching class for me. Akka said that if four students came with me, she would definitely arrange for the classes. Three of my friends and I joined the NEET class in YOKE after our board exams were cancelled. We were the first batch. Akka tied up with Jayendra school’s NEET Academy, for us. Menaka madam, took Physics classes for us. Antony sir taught us Ecology, Petchidurai sir, who regularly taught us Yoga at YOKE, taught us meditation for stress relief. And my school teachers also took some classes for us and covered chapters we had skipped as we did not have time to study.

Mind-set

In the first month,we wondered if it was possible to clear the NEET exam this year. But daily akka would come and tell us that we will definitely clear the exam this year. My sisters at YOKE always called us doctors, and we always felt thrilled. These two things kept us going. In the next month, we also started thinking we would clear the NEET exam this year. The NEET council also announced internal choice in the question paper this year. Akka said it is all happening specially for us only. So we put in our hard work. We studied 12 hours a day. It continued like this, the NEET exam came, we wrote the exam, the result came with expected marks for us.

Now, I have got a seat in Government Medical College, Virudhunagar. It happened because of YOKE, my teachers, my parents and my hard work. They all supported me a lot.

My future aim

First, I will study very well for my MBBS degree. I want to study Gynaecology. Just like I got the chance to study for free, I want to help more children from poor families to study like me.Then I want to serve the village and poor people with all my heart. I also want to become an IAS officer and serve all.

Good Days

“Good days” – It means we are happy physically and mentally and we also learn new things and new ideas. Here I am sharing my good days at YOKE,  how I enjoyed and learned in such wonderful times.

The year 2006

This was the first year of YOKE camp in our village. At that time we did not know why we were there, what was the purpose and goal of camp.  It was explained by Chitra akka. All the participants were split in four teams –  teams names were:

1. NANGAI – red cap
2. BRAHAN- blue cap
3. KAILASH- white cap
4. ABIMUKTHI- green cap

At that time I was in Brahan team. We had blue caps and Padma amma was my team in-charge. On the first  day the camp started at 11 o’clock . Chitra akka explained the importance of our river Thamirabhrani and how the river was now threatened by “ahaya thamarai” (the water hyacinth weed). It was a new thing for us to know the weed consumes more water and reduces the path-way of the river. We also discussed what are the ways to reduce the weed growth. Even now I remember talking about the chemical way of using some herbicides. It is one option to reduce the weed  in water bodies, but we don’t know the side effects of this method.  We discussed other methods also and participated in a physical clearance that was done using big Hitachi excavator.

These were the major tasks at our camp;  each task was explained and guided by our mentor in-charge .

I was little bit lagging in Craft, but my friends in Nangai team were doing very well because of Esakki raja, who was very good with clay craft .

We went to Pattamadi and  Kuniyur (Cheranmahadevi) on the final day of the camp to see how to make mats and clay pot .Why were we going to these places? Because these are natural products and famous across the world. We had discussion and learnt about how these wonderful crafts are made .

I was very happy  when we had drama workshop, because I like to act and write plays. That was the time I thought and wrote the drama for final day of the  camp. Still I am remember my first drama .

We had a cricket match on the fourth day of the camp.

Communication Workshop

We had an interesting workshop on Communication.  We were taught the importance of “EYE CONTACT” which was the most important part of this workshop. It was very useful in my career because I started my career as a sales engineer. When you speak with any one  you must have eye contact with the opposite person.  We learnt that it is the best communication method .

I saw my first Hindi film at YOKE –  “Iqbal” – such a wonderful motivational film.  That was a cricket-based story. The hero was a physically changed person.

I found Origami most difficult, I could not get it right at all.

The first summer camp at YOKE, which was 15 years ago, is still fresh in my memory.

எனக்கு முன்னால் ஆண்டுப்  பிரிவு அக்காமார்கள்  யோக்கிற்கு  வந்து அக்கா , சார் இருவரிடமும் ஆங்கிலம் மற்றும் கணக்கு படித்தார்கள் . அவர்கள் நல்ல மதிபெண்கள் எடுத்தார்கள்.  அதை பார்க்கும் போது நானும் நன்றாக  படிக்க வேண்டும் என்று ஆசைப்பட்டேன். அதன் பிறகு நான் பத்தாம் வகுப்பு 2016 ஆண்டு படித்தேன். நான் யோக்கில்  ஆங்கிலம் மற்றும் கணக்கு படிக்க வந்தேன். ஒரு நாள் ஆங்கில வகுப்பு ஒரு நாள் கணக்கு வகுப்பு படித்தேன் . ஆங்கிலம் அக்கா சொல்லி கொடுப்பார்கள். ஆனால் எனக்கு ஆங்கிலம் வாசிக்க வராது. அக்கா நல்ல பொறுமையாக எனக்கு சொல்லி கொடுத்தார்கள் .  சார் எனக்கு கணக்கு நன்றாக புரியும் வரை பொறுமையாக சொல்லி கொடுத்தார்கள் . நான் பள்ளி முடித்த பிறகு மாலை  யோக் வருவேன். அப்போது  வகுப்புகள் நடைபெற்றன . மார்ச் 15  தேதி  தேர்வு ஆரம்பம் ஆகியது . மார்ச் 14 அன்று யோக் சார், அக்கா அருகில் உள்ள பெருமாள் கோவிலில் நாங்கள் நல்ல மதிப்பெண் எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று பூஜை பண்ணினார்கள் . அக்கா  சார் இருவரும் தேர்வு எழுத  வாழ்த்துக்கள்  சொன்னார்கள் . தேர்வு நன்றாக எழுதினேன் . 25.5.2016 தேர்வு முடிவு நாள் . அன்று என் நண்பர்கள் கூட கோவில் சென்று வணங்கினோம். 9.00 மணி அளவில் தேர்வு விடை வந்தது. ஆங்கிலத்தில் 66 மதிப்பெண்கள் கணக்கில் 85 மதிப்பெண்கள்,  மொத்தம் 422 எடுத்தேன் . நான் இவ்வளவு மதிப்பெண்கள் வரும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை. எனக்கு ரொம்ப மகிழ்ச்சியாக  இருந்தது . என் குடும்பத்தில் இத்தனை மதிப்பெண்கள் யாரும் எனக்கு முன்னால்  எடுத்ததில்லை.  என் அம்மா என்னை கட்டி அணைத்து முத்தமிட்டார்கள். அது எனக்கு இன்னும் பெரும் மகிழச்சி அளித்தது .

அதன் பிறகு நான் 11ம்  வகுப்பில் வணிகவியல் பாடங்களை  தேர்ந்தெடுத்தேன். அதில் கணக்குப்பதிவியல் என்ற பாடம் வந்தது.  அதைப்பற்றி எனக்கு ஒன்றும் தெரியவில்லை. யோக் சார் ஒவ்வொன்றாக கற்று  கொடுத்தார்கள் . சார் கற்று கொடுத்தது நன்றாக புரிந்தது, பள்ளியில் என் நண்பர்களுக்கு நான் கற்று கொடுத்தேன். அது எனக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தது.

12ம்  வகுப்பிலும்  யோக் சார்ரிடம் கணக்குப்பதிவியல் கற்று கொண்டேன் . பள்ளி முடிந்த பிறகு கணக்குபதிவியல் வகுப்பு நடைபெற்றது . 26.4.2018 அன்று கணக்குபதிவியல் தேர்வு நடைபெற்றது . தேர்வு நன்றாக எழுதினேன் . 200 மதிப்பெண்  வரும் என்று நம்பினேன் . 19.5.1018 அன்று தேர்வு முடிவு நாள் . நான் மதிப்பெண்ணை   எதிர்பார்த்து காலை 10.00 மணி வரை காத்து இருந்தேன். கணக்குப்பதிவியலில் 200 மதிபெண்கள்  எடுத்தேன் . 1027 மதிப்பெண்கள் எடுத்து பள்ளியில் இரண்டாவது இடம் எடுத்தேன் . எனக்கு ரொம்ப மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தது. 

என்னாலும் முடியும் என்று நான் என்னையே அறிந்து கொண்ட அந்த நாட்கள் என் வாழ்க்கையில் மறக்க முடியாத நாட்களாகும்.

The busy Tirunelveli junction was conspicuously clean compared to the bedlam and dirt that one encounters in large city stations.  An auto driven by affable Ganesh to ferry us to the village of Kodaganallur. I kept my eyes peeled trying to soak in as much as I could, but the heat was soporific and lulled us into a sleepy limbo. The auto jogged and jolted over a dirt track, entered a street and halted in front of a house. I could see an old temple at the end of the street and something inside me smiled with a sense of belonging. My friend popped out of her house, a hug and a beaming welcome followed and it felt as if I knew her for ages, but actually this was the first time I was meeting her in person!

2012, my first trip to Kodaganallur as Chitra had invited me to conduct a three-day storytelling camp for the children as part of the resource centre, set up by YOKE Society. The first camp was conducted in a room on the roof. As memories go, the first is always special! I met Nataraja and his sister. Priya was the student coordinator and helped me organise my material. Chitra herself had a system for the children and I found all her little structures fascinating to observe. There were teams and team leads’. Jobs for every team, younger ones looked after by the older children and so many other details taken care of.

I told them stories in a mix of English and Tamil, made them act out, perform small improv games and would finish with an art or craft activity. Soon these art and craft activities became a hit even more than my stories! That first year I even did a small puppet show for the children.

The next two years I returned to YOKE, carrying huge bags filled with crafts and stories. The group too became larger and larger and my craft activity that was eagerly awaited, made me scour the internet for ideas in preparation! I also had fun pushing them to do theatre and spontaneous speaking activities and learning to work with them as a group.

Every trip was loaded with memories, of eating sundal and buttermilk as snacks during the break or playing on the sandy river bed. Taking a trip to the Koonthakulam Bird sanctuary nearby and once even learning to play the Parai from the children. The combined summer camp watching children from Veeravanallur weaving was also an unforgettable experience.

I have made 4 or 5 trips to Kodagannalur and every visit I would see children engaged in new and interesting art, craft, dance or communication activity. Summer camp at YOKE was truly a blend of learning, doing, sharing and enjoying. Thank you Chitra and Vasu for inviting me to be a facilitator for YOKE summer camp Storytelling, I am enriched by it!

சுமந்த கனவுகள் 

வாழ்க்கைப்  பாதையின் கால ஓட்டத்தில்  திருமண பந்தத்தில் நுழைந்த நான், திகட்டாத அமுதமான என் செல்ல மகளின் வருகையைப் பற்றி  இங்கு பகிர்ந்துள்ளேன். அது எப்படி “மகள்” என்று நிச்சயமாக அன்றே நினைத்தேன் என்றால் பெண் குழந்தையின் பிடித்தம் மட்டும் அன்று;  “பெண் குழந்தை மீது நான் கொண்ட பைத்தியக்காரதனமான வெறி” என்பதுதான்.

3 மாத பேறு   காலம் வரை நான் பட்ட நிகழ்வுகளுக்கு “மசக்கை” என்று பெயர்  என்று யார் சொன்னது ? அது வாழ்வின் மகத்தான தருணங்கள். என்னதான் வாழ்வின் பாதிப்பான பல பக்கங்களை நான் கண்டாலும் என்னவளின் முகம் காண நான் ஒவ்வொரு நொடியையும் யுகமாய் கழித்தேன். எந்த மாத மருத்துவப்  பரிசோதனையையும் என் மகளுக்காக நான் செய்ய இயலவில்லை. ஆனால் மனம் தளராமல் என் மகளுடன், கொஞ்சி, குலாவி, சண்டையிட்டு விடியலுக்காக காத்திருந்தேன். குமட்டலும், மயக்கமும் என் தாரகையின் சிறு விளையாட்டென மகிழ்ந்தேன். என்னவளின் மெய் தீண்ட வேண்டாத தெய்வம் எல்லாம் வேண்டினேன். 

5 மாத முடிவு காலத்திலும், என் செல்லத்தின் துடிப்பினை என்னால் அறிய இயலவில்லை. முதல் முறையாக மருத்துவமனையை அடைந்தேன். என்னவள் என் மீது கோபம் கொண்டு எனக்காக கொடுத்த தண்டனை போலும். முகம் வியர்த்து, கை கால் நடுங்கி “மரணபயம்” என்பதை வாழ்வில் அறிந்தேன். அவளிடம் மன்றாடி கெஞ்சினேன். அவளும் பெண்ணல்லவா, என்னை மன்னித்து எனக்காக என் மடியில் தவழ சம்மதம் என்று உறுதி கூறுவது போல துடிப்பினை தந்தாள். 

இறைவனின் ஆசீர்வாதத்தால் 7-வது மாதத்தில் வளைப்பூட்டும் நிகழ்வு நடந்தது. என் தாய் வீட்டிற்கு வந்தேன். எல்லோர்க்கும் ஓர் தாய் என்றால் எனக்கு இருவர் – என் வளர்ப்பு அன்னையாகிய எனது அம்மாவின் அம்மா (ஆச்சி) தனது 76-வது வயதில் எனக்கு பேறு கால  நிகழ்வினை முகம் சுளிக்காமல் செய்து முடித்தாள். ஆம், எனக்கு அம்மா என பதவி உயர்வு வழங்க எனதருமை தங்கம் டிசம்பர் திங்கள் 18-ம் தேதி இரவு 8.45 மணிக்கு பிறந்தாள். வாழ்வில் பட்ட அனைத்து இன்னல்களுக்கும் சேர்த்து மகிழ்ச்சியை கடவுள் அளித்ததை உணர்ந்தேன் .  

மதி மயங்கிய நிலையில் நான் இருந்தாலும் என்னவளின் அழுகையும் மெய் தீண்டலும் என்னை மீண்டும் பிறக்க செய்தது. பாரதியாரின் வரிகளான “இங்கிவளை(னை) யான் பெறவே என்ன தவம் செய்து விட்டேன்” என்பது போல. என் பூர்வ ஜென்ம புண்ணியமாக அமைந்தது, எனதருமை சந்தியா ஸ்ரீ-ன் வருகை!

சுமக்கும் கனவுகள்

வாழ்வில் இழந்த அனைத்தையும் எனக்காக என் மகள் மீட்டு தந்தாள். ஆனால் என் மகளுக்கு நான் என்ன செய்ய போகிறேன்! தெரியவில்லை!, புரியவில்லை! பொருளாதார நெருக்கடி! “என் மகளை வளமாக நல்வாழ்வு வாழ வைக்க வேண்டும்”. உறுதிபூண்டேன் அரசு வேலை பெற வேண்டும் என்று. 12-ம் வகுப்பு வரை மட்டுமே படித்த எனக்கு ஒன்றுமே தெரியவில்லை. வாழ்க்கை கடலில் தத்தளித்திருந்த எனக்கு “கலங்கரை விளக்கமாய்” அமைந்தது, யோக் அமைப்பு. மன்னிக்கவும் “யோக் சொந்தங்கள்”. இங்கு தாயாகவும், தந்தையாகவும், நல் ஆசானாகவும், சகோதரனாகவும், சகோதரியாகவும் எண்ணற்ற குடும்ப உறுப்பினர்கள். “உன்னாலும் முடியும்” என்று நம்பிக்கை மிகுந்த வாசகங்கள். பயனற்ற உலர்நிலமாக இருந்த என்னை உருவாக்கிட நல்ல தளத்தினை தந்தது யோக் அமைப்பு. ஒரு விவசாயிக்கு தான் தெரியும் செடியின் வரலாறு. இந்த மண்ணிற்கு  எவ்வளவு உரமிட்டால் நல் விளைச்சலை தரும் என்றெல்லாம். எனக்குள் எவ்வளவு உரமிட்டால் நல்ல பயனை தரும் என, என் தகுதியை அறிந்து எனக்காக கல்வி கற்று தரும் ஆசான். 

அந்த செடியினை வளர்க்க தண்ணீர் ஊற்றும்  “குடும்பத்தை” பற்றி கூறியே ஆகிய வேண்டும். இந்த தோட்டத்தின் வேலியாக  என் கணவராகத்தான் இருக்க முடியும். “உனக்காக நான் இருக்கிறேன்! உன் இலட்சியக் கனவுகளுக்கு  என்றும் காவலனாக!” என்று கூறும் கணவான்மார்கள் எத்துணை   பேருக்கு கிடைக்கும்!  வீட்டு வேலை செய்ய வைக்காத அம்மா, என் ஆடை துவைக்கும் அக்கா, எனக்காக அனைத்தையும் செய்யும் அக்காளின் ஆசை மகன்கள் 2 பேர். இதற்கும் மேலாக எனதருமை செல்லத்தின்  புன்சிரிப்பு. வேறு என்ன வேண்டும். என் குடும்பத்தின் ஒட்டுமொத்த எதிர்பார்ப்பு “எனக்கான அரசு வேலை”. இத்துணை பேருக்கும் நான் என்ன கைம்மாறு செய்ய போகிறேன். அனைவரின் திருவடிகளிலும் வெற்றி கனியை சமர்பிப்பதுதான் நியாயமாக இருக்கும் என்று நம்புகிறேன். இன்று அரசு வேலைக்கான படிப்பினை முழு மூச்சாக படிக்கிறேன், நான் சுமக்கும் இந்தக் கனவும் கட்டாயம் நிறைவேறும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையுடன்!

நான் சுமந்த கனவு வெற்றியில் முடிந்தது. ஆனால் நான் சுமக்கும் இந்த கனவு நனவகுமா? காலத்தின் கைகளில் ஒப்படைக்கிறேன்.   

திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்டம் கோடகநல்லூர் என்னும் சிற்றூரில் இயற்கை   சூழ்ந்து  தன்னார்வு  மையமாக அமைந்துள்ளது எங்களின் யோக். அதை நிறுவி நடத்தி வருபவர்கள் மதிப்பிற்குரிய  சித்ரா & வாசுதேவன் அவர்கள். யோக்  உள்ளே நுழைந்ததும் லட்சியத்திற்கான பாதைகள் தெரியும். அதில் நாம் நமக்கான பாதைகளை தேர்ந்து எடுக்கும் போது, அதற்கான வழிகாட்டியாகவும் இருப்பார்கள். கோடகநல்லூரை   சுற்றியுள்ள அனைத்து சிறு கிராமங்களும் பயன்பெறும் வகையில் யோக் செயல்பட்டு கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

யோக்கில் நடைபெறும் பல்வேறு வகையான இலவச பயிற்சிகள், பல மாணவர்களுக்கு அவரவர் திறமைகள்  என்னென்ன என்பதை உணர வைத்திருக்கிறது. நடனம், யோகா, 10,12, மற்றும் டிஎன்பிஎஸ்சி  பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள், விளையாட்டுக்கான பயிற்சி, தையலுக்கான பயிற்சி, கோடைக்கால பயிற்சி வகுப்பு போன்ற பல வகுப்புகள் நடைபெறும். மேலும் ஆண்டுதோறும் மாரத்தான் நடத்தி வருவது போற்றுதலுக்குரியது. இவையனைத்திலும் ஒன்றான நடன வகுப்பைப்பற்றி நானிங்கு கூறப் போகிறேன்.

எங்களுக்கு யோக்கில் கற்றுத்தரும் நடனம் கிராமிய பாடல்களுடன் கூடிய கிராமிய நடனம். அத்தகைய கிராமிய நடனங்களை  எங்களுக்கு கற்றுக்கொடுத்தவர்கள் மதிப்பிற்குரிய அன்பார்ந்த  பயிற்சியாளர்கள்  கலைமாமணி கைலாசமூர்த்தி ஐயா மற்றும் செல்வி அக்கா ஆவார்கள்.  

முதலில் ஒயிலாட்டம், மற்றும் கும்மியை கலைமாமணி கைலாசமூர்த்தி அவர்கள் கற்றுக்கொடுத்தார்கள்.  அவர்களை நாங்கள் அன்போடு தாத்தா என்று அழைப்போம். அவர்களின் மூலம் அறிமுகமான  செல்வி அக்கா எங்களுக்கு கரகாட்டம், கும்மி, பறை, மேலும் பல்வேறு மாநிலங்களில் ஆடப்படும் நடனங்களை கற்றுக்கொடுத்தார்கள்  இத்தகைய சிறு கிராமத்தில் வசிக்கும் நாங்கள் கரகாட்டம், கும்மி, ஒயிலாட்டம்  தவிர்த்து பல மாநிலங்களின்  பெருமைக்குள்ள  நடனங்களையும்  கற்று  கொண்டோம்.   

கற்று கொடுத்த நடனங்களை ஆட பல்வேறு  மேடை நிகழச்சிக்களிலும்  எங்களை பங்கேற்க செய்வார்கள் . மேலும் கிராமங்களில் நடனம் என்றாலே, அதுவும் பெண்கள் நடனம்  ஆடினால் தவறு என்று கூறக்கூடிய சூழ்நிலையில் மனதில் ஒரு  ஓரத்தில்  ஆசை வைத்திருக்கும் எங்களைப்போன்ற குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஒரு வாய்ப்பாக யோக் வகுப்புகள் அமைந்திருப்பது மகிழச்சிக்குரிய ஒன்றாகும். 

நடனம் கற்றுக்  கொடுப்பவர்கள் எங்களுக்கு நடனம் மட்டும் இல்லாமல் வாழ்வு சார்ந்த நிகழ்வுகளும் கூறுவார்கள். அவர்களின் அனுபவங்களையும்  பகிர்ந்து ஒரு உற்சாகமான வகுப்பாக இருக்கும் நடனம் பயிற்சி வகுப்பு.   தவிர, நாங்கள் எந்த வகையான நடனம் ஆடுகிறோமோ  அதற்கான உடைகள், நகைகள் போன்றவற்றை  யோக் அமைப்பில் வாங்கி தந்து உற்சாகப்படுத்துவார்கள். மேலும் எங்கள் கல்லூரியில் இங்கு கற்ற நடனம் ஆடி நாங்கள் முதல் பரிசு வென்றது, எங்களுக்கு பெரும் மகிழ்ச்சியை  தந்தது. 

நடனமே தெரியாத எனக்கு நடனம் கற்றுத்தந்து முதல் பரிசு வாங்கச் செய்தது   இந்த யோக்  அமைப்பு. நடனம் மட்டும் அல்லாமல் மேலும் பல கலைகளில் எனக்கு வாய்ப்புகளை  தந்து   இருள்சூழ்ந்த என் வாழ்விற்கு  ஒளி வட்டமாக இருக்கிறது எங்கள் யோக் அமைப்பு!   

“சுற்றுலா” – இது எல்லோருக்கும் பிடித்த வார்த்தை ஆகும். எவ்வளவு கட்டுப்பாட்டுடன்   சுற்றுலா  சென்றாலும் போன இடத்தின் அழகினை  ரசிப்பதே  அந்த கட்டுப் பாட்டை  உடைத்து விடும் .  அதுதான் எங்கள்  யோக் சுற்றுலா. கடலுக்கு செல்வோம், குளிக்க வேண்டாம் என்ற  எண்ணத்தில்தான் செல்வோம், ஆனால் குளிக்காமல்  வரமாட்டோம்.  இது போல தடைகளை   மீறுவது  கூட   மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கும்  எங்கள்  யோக்  பயணத்தில்.  

இது வரை நான் யோக் மூலம் பல சுற்றுலாக்கள் சென்றுள்ளேன். அதில் முதல் சுற்றுலா மறக்க முடியாத ஒன்று.  5  நாள் கோடை  பயிற்சியில்   சென்ற மணிமுத்தாறு  சுற்றுலா தான் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தது. அம்மா அப்பாவின் ஆள் காட்டி விரலை அழுத்தி பிடித்து  கொண்டு எங்கும் சென்ற எனக்கு முதல் முதலில் சுதந்திரமாக  யார்  கையும்  பிடிக்காமல் நண்பர்களுடன் சென்ற சுற்றுலா அது. பிறகு இதே போல எனக்கு கிடைத்த  ஒரு வாய்ப்பு . நம் நாட்டின் தலைநகரில் என் பாதம் பதிக்க ஒரு வாய்ப்பு.   கற்றது  கைம்மண்  அளவு, கல்லாதது உலக அளவு என்ற தத்துவத்தின்  பொருளை உணர்ந்தேன் .  நம் நாடு கலை, கை வண்ணம் என ஏராளமான  செயல்களில் சிறந்து விளங்குவது பற்றி அறிந்தேன். அதுவும் படித்து அல்ல என் கண்களால்  பார்த்து.  நான் டெல்லி சென்ற வயது மிகவும் இள  வயது என்பதால் என்னால் பல  நிகழ்வுகள்,  அர்த்தங்கள் எல்லாம் புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியவில்லை.  ஆனால் அதை இப்போது நினைத்து பார்த்து ரசிக்கிறேன்.  இதே போல இன்னொரு வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தால் என் பிறவி பயன்  அடைவது போல  ஆனந்தம் பெறுவேன்.  

எங்கள் வாழக்கைக்கே  அர்த்தம் கற்று   கொடுத்த எங்கள் யோக் நிறுவனத்துக்கு  எனது மனமார்ந்த நன்றி !    எங்களின் இன்னொரு உலகம், நம்பிக்கையின் பிறப்பிடம், என சொல்லவோ ஆயிரம்   வார்த்தைகள்  உண்டு.  அவை அனைத்தும்  எங்க யோக் நிறுவனத்துக்கு மட்டுமே உண்டு!
